What’s The Least Painful Place On Your Body To Have A Tattoo?

13 Comments 25 February 2010

I’m only 14 right now, but plan on having a tattoo as soon as i’m old enough. What’s the least painful place on your body to have a tattoo? Please answer if you’ve had a tattoo before or if you’re a tattoo artist. Also, what age is legal to have a tattoo in the UK?

Where theres is alot of skin for example outer biceps, thighs etc. places such as your upper/middle back (your spine), feet, ribs etc are more painful. However all tattoos are somewhat painful/uncomfortable but bearable. Im not too sure exactly what the legal age is but i would assume 18 without parent permission/accompaniment and 16 with.

The closer to the bone, the more it hurts. If you’re very skinny then it’s likely to hurt a lot where ever you have it because of this! Don’t let the pain put you off having a tattoo where you want, it’ll all be worth it in the end, plus the artist will let you take breaks when you need. Just eat a lot of sugary things beforehand – it helps!
You have to be 18 to get a tattoo in the UK, even if you have parental consent no reputable artist will tattoo you as it’s against the law. If an artist is willing to break the law then it’s best to assume they don’t care about hygiene or producing the best piece possible – they just want your money.
Find an idea you love and stick it in your bedroom somewhere, if it’s still there when you’re 18 and you’re not sick of looking at it; I think it’s safe to say it’s right. :)

least painful places would be things like the upper arm (thats why most men get them there lol). places like the lower back, across the spine, shoulder blade or foot are really painful because it is closer to the bone so not as much flesh. ive also heard that the wrist isnt very painful. however, all tattoos will have some discomfort because you have a needle repeatidly pundturing your skin. btw, the legal age in the UK is 18. even if you are 16 and have parental consent you wouldnt be able to get one.
    XOXO.

The least painful places are the places that get the most wear and tear. The answers on here are all about how much meat you have, but those people have never got tattoos on their stomach, obviously. Outside of you arm doesn’t hurt, but the inside does. The best way to tell is to pinch or scratch a few optional spots and you’ll know which spots are sensitive.

the one that didn’t hurt very much was the on on i shoulder. here are a couple of tips you should do
    1) you should get it done in the morning– eat a good breakfast take one advil ONE HOUR before you go and take deep breaths and just don’t pay attention to what the guy is doing just focus on breathing it will be over before you know it good luck hope i helped =)

    1. Please wait until you are 18 – there is no rush you will have it for life
    2. I would say probably the least painful spots are the out side of your forearms or the tops of your arms – just before your shoulders

  7. Sam says:

The least painfull places are where there is more flesh, it is the most places where there is more bone such as over the spine or on your hands and feet
