My dad passed away 4 years ago June 16. I have been planning to get a tattoo with his name on it. I was looking for ideas of what I should get. Crosses are so cliche. And I already have one with a snake on it. I don’t want another cross. Any ideas?

So sorry to hear about your dad. That’s just something you never really get over. Life goes on, of course, but still….
Anyway, I say get it on your hip, front or back. Something like a circle of life, acknowledging that you grew from him, then he went on, and you’ll join him again someday (lots of Celtic knotwork designs would suit).
Or, you can go with the tree of life, or the four seasons, or something that signifies that whole birth, growth, death, re-birth thing, that constancy that is your father and your relationship with him that remains true throughout all of those changes in life.
Or, did you have something that you and your dad liked to do together, or that every time you see it, it reminds you of him? Any or all of these would work – a good tat artist can take the ideas you like best and work something up for you.
Hope this helps.
