What Do I Have To Do To Become A Tattoo Artist In Oklahoma?

3 Comments 28 December 2009

I ‘ve had 3 yrs in college working on my bfa, and I have always been interested in tattooing. What are the steps I need to take to become a tattoo artist? I realize I need an internship but how do I go about getting one?

Where do you live in Oklahoma? They have an excellent place in Tulsa. I have had all my ink done there. Outsiders Ink. Yea, they made it legal. You should probably go to a tattoo parlor or email them your inquiry. Then draw some **** up and bring it up there. It depends on how new the shop is and if they can apprentice. E ven if they say they can, make sure you do a “background” check. Make sure they’re legit.

You should first have your head examined. Wanting to be a tattoo artist can be a good thing but no sane person really wants to live in Oklahoma.
You should contact a tattoo establishment in Oklahoma to inquire about the process. You will need to work with one as an intern anyway, and a reputable tattoo parlor will be able to help you.
