I got an industrial piercing one week ago, and it doesnt hurt but it is really itchy. is that normal?

Oh yeah definitely remember the itchy part the first few weeks after getting pierced. It’s totally normal. It means your ear is trying to heal. Something to relieve the need to itch is to soak it in warm water for 10 min or take a hot shower. My ear definitely didnt feel so itchy after that. You also might want to do sea salt soaks instead of just warm water as this is part of cleaning too so make two steps into one and soak your ear in 1 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon sea salt for 10 min and your ear will not only feel less itchy but it will be cleaner and you will be helping the healing process too.
Yes, you’re skin is healing. it’s like how you’re scabs itch after you’re cut or something when it’s healing
Yeah it’s normal-means you’re healing. Just be sure not to scratch it or you could cause damage to the healing tissue. Be sure to wash your piercing twice a day with antibacterial soap and use some form of saline solution to keep it moist. I used H2Ocean that I got from my piercer but you can also use plain saline solution that you buy on the contact solution aisle at the store.
yeah…. i got 2 cartilag piercings 3 months ago and they still get itchy! and are still sore when i wake up lol. cartilage piercings take long to heal. my friend at work, her industrial piercing hurt for 6 months…. it is most likely itchy fort eh sea salt soaks.just make sure you rinse off your piercing after the sea salt soaks.

yes that is totally and perfectly normal. your natural reaction and tendency will be to scratch the piercing to relieve the itching. DO NOT SCRATCH THE PIERCING!!!!!! Scratching could cause an infection or more scar tissue to develop. Cartilage piercings could take up to 9 months to completely heal without complications, so just be patient with your body and your new piercing. Yes, it is normal…. I have had my industrial piercing for two months now… Its going great, but yes it itches, mie started intching about three weeks after I got it done, but it stopped, and it has started up again, about a week ago. Your ear is healing, and it goes through the itchey process, to renew and recover cells on the skin, and the new cells are actually healing your piercing. DONT SCRATCH, I know it is soooo very tempting, but it’s for the best. SEa salt soake will make your industrial piercing itch also, when you get finifhed with your sea salt soaks, wat 2 to three mins after and then rinse the piercing off. An average industrial piercing take 6 months to a year to heal… Some take 3 months to heal, and some may take alittle over a year to heal. Hope this helped!!!!
