    i don’t think 12 is too young im 15 and i have 11 piercings. (started when i was 12)
if he really wants it let him pick also lip and eyebrow both don’t hurt but lip is more easy to look after and has less chance of rejecting, but i like eyebrow better.
but in the end its up too him if he really wants it let him but make sure he is not doing it to fit in or because every ones got one. make sure if HIM who is really wanting to get it done

Usually during a piercing operation the one who does it should use a local anesthesia (spray or injected with a very small needle). So, if your son will be anesthesiated then it is probable less painful if he does it in his lip, because the eyebrow is very hard to anesthesiate. If there is no anesthesia involved, then the lip one is more painful because the skin in the lip area is harder to penetrate. Anyway, if he wants to do it he shoud be prepared for pain, if not in the proper act of geting the piercing, in the 3-4 days in which he will feel pain in the piercing area, and also a certain disconfort. Hope my answer helps. I actually believe piercings are not a very “beautiful” accesory, but with nowadays children you never know what beautiful means.

First off, you might wana consider waiting till he is a bit older to get something pierced – he might regret it later on. I got my first facial piercing summer before grade 12, but its his & your choice.
I dont know much about eyebrow piercings, but for lip, if he gets it in the middle, it doesnt hurt at all – i have mine there – but the sides i’ve heard hurt a bit. Lip rings get in the way a lot, so i would suggest getting either a stud until it heals, or just go with the eyebrow piercing. But pay attention to if he does things – like sports – that he’d have to wear a mask or something for, then eyebrow piercings might not be the best idea.
Maybe suggest a ear lobe piercing ?

he is only 12 years old! wait until he is a teenager so he can decide if he wants one and where. if he does decide that he definitely wants one, then go for it. but 12 years old is waaaayy too young to decide
and as a parent you shouldnt decide for him

Both of them hurt for insignificant amount of time, if you have a good piercer who knows what he/she is doing then it shouldn’t be really bad, depends on the person’s pain tolerance as well. Lip is less dangerous because if pierced tongue gets infected it might be pretty serious. Tongue hurts more after you get it pierced and it’s pretty hard to talk. If the piercing is treated good it shouldn’t cause any problem

Mike1ang, professional piercers don’t use anesthetics that you inject, they use spray or liquid ones that only affect the top layer of your skin. Anesthetic injection distorts the tissue, so it’s harder to make piercing not crooked. Plus they have to have a license to use anesthetic injection.
