When you're cleaning it, it's all lubed up & slippery. The soap & water make it a whole lot easier to move. Can't really explain the stinging pain, though, I get that too after I change my eyebrow ring.

First off - You should never wash your site with soap. AHHHH! Your piercer should have told you to only clean the site with saline solution. The soap dries out the skin and cancels the good bacteria that is trying to heal the site. Only use saline solution or slightly salty water. Soap is BAD! You want to leave the piercing alone as much as possible for the healing process. No more SOAP!

While you're cleaning it, it's lubricated so it's easier to move. You shouldn't move it around all the time for no reason though, that's what makes it infected. You're supposed to leave it alone when it's new so only push it down if you have to and make sure your hands are clean. Also, use sea salt. Table salt has iodine in it, which would be way to harsh.
