I consulted with my piercer about a nose piercing I’m planning to get this weekend. I provided my own jewelry which was a nose screw. He told me that the nose screw will hurt. Is that true? I heard the screw was the better option.

I guess you should go with what the piercer says, but nose screws are the best. Pins fall out, bones hurt terribly and destroy your piercing, rings are okay but they’re a totally different look.
I got pierced in a screw and love it. Doesn’t hurt, and I like that if it catches on something like a tissue, it will not get ripped out and hurt, the top half comes out but the curve keeps it in gently. The only thing with screws is that the first couple times you take them out and put them back in, it hurts some and is really hard to do. But once you know what you’re doing, it’s a breeze.
It all depends on how your piercer decides to pierce you. With a professional and trustworthy piercer you shouldn’t be able to feel any pain. There maybe slight discomfort but that is only when the screw is passed through the hollow needle and the tubing/needle (whatever you wish to call it) is being pulled out of your nostril.
The great thing about nostril piercings if that you have the freedom to have them done with a screw, ring or fishtail. Do what you think is comfortable and is best but I swear honestly and truthfully you will not feel a thing with either type of jewelry.
Usually we (body piercers) like to us the our own jewelry so we know the grade of metal it’s made of and that’s it’s sterile.
So it would be best to go with what he advises. At least until it’s healed.
Once that happens, it’s up to you. I don’t like nostril “screws” or “nose bones” but some of my customers love them. That is a personal preference to be decided later.
For right now, I’d listen to your piercer.
Take care!

I Think Getting Just The Starter Nose Jewerly
They Give You When You Get Your Nose Pierced
Is Better. Than After You Had That In For A While
Than You Should Get A Nose Screw.
EWWWWW that’s nasty and repulsive, gross
I think you should go with your piercers idea..
I think he would know better than you
I would trust him on that one
