It depends on what company. When I was a dev engineer in the VPN division of Nokia, more than one (tattooed) person asked me when I was going to get my tattoo. Uninked at the time, I sheepishly had to admit I had none cuz I still wasn’t sure what precisely I wanted.
That was a technical job, though, which is my venue. Sales – especially to the general public – may or may not be a problem, depending on where & what, both tattoo location & the job. No one can really answer this question without knowing more of these specifics. “A company” is just too generic to be able to say.
I’m getting my entire left arm done, half way there, but I’m getting used to covering up now. I always wear long sleeves in the office. When I leave the office and it’s warm, I’ll talk off my sweater or jacket, but for the most part, your employer and co-workers don’t want to look at your tattoos no matter how beautiful they are.
If its in a place where it can’t be hidden by clothing, yes…It doesn’t look professional…
