And I need answers on, pain, looks and can I take it out during the day after it has healed, time frames and all that jazz, and if anyone from Glasgow can recommend a decent piercing studio, cheers! Btw I am 28 mother of one, lol, social implicational opinions also greatly recieved!

lip piercing hardly hurts. if you can get a cavity filled at the dentist and stand the pain, this won’t be too bad at all. it does hurt worse the next couple days though. just wash it out with what they tell you too, usually warm water and sea salt. the main thing is making sure it doesnt bump your teeth. and, it might aggitate your gums a bit.
i think that after a year you can take it out without anything different in it. after 6 weeks, though, you can get a clear retainer. hardly visible.
as far as social implications go, i personally think there is nothing wrong with it. facial piercings are getting more and more acceptable, and i think it helps keep peoples looks young and fun.
