Are you aware that, there are many places that, once pierced, STAY pierced? So even if you take out the jewelry, you still have this HOLE where it use to go. This is particularly true of places where there is cartilage. The fact that you are so involved with piercing just shows that you are still rebellious even though you claim that you don’t smoke, drink or cuss. All that means is that piercing is your form of rebellion. That piercing in your nose is one of the ones that may never close.
You have alot of nerve insinuating that your mother is not being reasonable, when she has already allowed you NINE piercings at the age of 15!! Oh, I know…you are 15 and you think you know everything and you know more than your mother and you are better than society and it’s what’s on the inside of a person that counts. Believe it or not, I was once 15 too. Fortunately I got over it and have survived another 34 years after that…and all without 9 piercings! In fact, I only have 2…one in each earlobe, and I didn’t pierce those until I was 18.
When I was 15, I wanted to get my ears pierced, and my father firmly said NO. He believed that it was a form of self-mutilation, just like the people in African tribes that put a big plate in their lip, or the South American tribes that stretch out their ear lobes or the Asians that stretch their necks with coils of copper tubing. I told him that I thought that earrings were beautiful, and he said that all of those tribes think that their form of self mutilation was done for the sake of what they considered to be beautiful. Think about it.
What you are asking is extreme, by most standards. You are young, and you have an attitude that is very typical for someone your age. But don’t worry, you will grow up, and it will get better.
