Body piercing/ tattooing are NOT types of self harm. They are self expression. Self mutilation, self harm, etc. shouldn’t even be brought into the situation of peircings and tattooing. Usually, depending on where you live, the age is 14. It also depends on the piercing you will be getting. Some piecers wont do a certain peircing, like a tounge peircing for instance. If your 15, many peircers, even if you have parental consent, wont pierce it. Ear peircings, like and industrial or cartiledge dont have an age limit. Usually.

in Charlotte NC i just got my tongue pierced n i am 13 so it depends on where u go to do ur piercing how old u have to be.

I really want my lip pierced… I don’t believe you have to be a certain age to get it done you just have to have your parents permission. I don’t think my mom will let me yet though… hahaah ;’(
