How Much Would It Cost To Get A Very Small Tattoo Removed?

3 Comments 05 January 2010

I have a very small tattoo (smaller than a dime), and I am looking into maybe getting it removed for career purposes. It’s only a black outline on my wrist. I know that laser removals can be very painful and expensive, but would it really cost much to get it done on such a small, simple tattoo?

I had a tattoo on my lower back I had removed- it was all black/grey with red in the center. I had 7 sessions at $100/15 minutes and the black outline is still there. The size doesn’t matter, it depends on how old the tattoo is and how dark/thick the lines are. And it HURTS. BAD. And you smell your skin burning. If anyone tells you (like the nurses tried to tell me…) that it feels like getting a tattoo, slap them. And get the numbing shot.

You’ve got some things working in your favor. Black is the easiest color to remove by laser and since it’s small, you may only need a couple of treatments. But each treatment may be $100 or more. Go see a dermatologist who specializes in tattoo removal.
There are mixed reviews about tattoo removal creams. TatBGone apparently is completely painless, you just rub cream on twice a day. With Wrecking Balm you use a little tool and scrape the layers off your skin and then use a chemical peel – so there might be pain and irritation. There are other at home treatments that you can research. All of the at home treatments take several months to work. But if you’ve got the time, you might try it.
You might also try some concealer creams. It’s like makeup that doesn’t come off easily.

this works well and is virtually painless. Much cheaper and more effective than lazer.
