I really don’t want to ruin my new tattoo and I am not sure how long I have to wait to shave. I got one tattoo two weeks ago this past Friday and one this Saturday.

A tattoo needs 4-6 weeks to heal. You don’t want to shave until the skin is completely healed, when it looks and feels like the skin around it. One week, two weeks, even three weeks is too soon. Shave around it for now. The skin will appear to look healed, with no scabbing or peeling, but, it will have a very faint look to it, but it is not healed. During the healing process, your tattoo will take on many different appearances, and at times it may look healed, but it’s not. Your hair really shouldn’t grow back too fast in that area while the skin is healing. Just give it time, and take care of your tattoo.
Well I’ve had a tattoo for about a year now and I’ve never had that problem cause it’s on my arm and I don’t shave that part. But you will want to wait two weeks for the area where your tattoo is to heal. Once the skin has completely healed and there is no scabbing you should be able to shave. But then it also depends on how big the tattoo is cause the bigger it is the longer it will take to heal. Just be sure the skin has fully healed and then you will be able to shave. Hope this helps.
Wait until the scabbing is gone. Until then, shave around it. Keep it well moisturized. I prefer using cocoa butter on new tattoos.
a tattoo is under the first layer of skin…i would be more worried about if it it really sensitive. u should be good to go on the shaven and not rewen it
You should of asked the tattoo place. Go back and ask them, Im sure just after It the redness and irratation cools down.
Theres no limit. Aslong as you dont feel pain anymore. It took me 4 days.
