Piercing Questions

How Can I Modify Body Piercing Jewelry So That It Is Permanent And Cannot Be Removed From The Piercing?

8 Comments 04 February 2010

I would like to learn how to modify standard body piercing jewelry (captive bead rings, barbells, etc.) so that the removable component (such as the captive or threaded bead) can no longer be removed, resulting in permanently-installed rings and barbells. The idea of permanent earrings is mentioned on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_piercing#Permanent_earrings

There is a similar example of permanent piercings being used for chastity on the BME Encyclopedia:

I would like to know if there are any manufacturers of non-removable piercing jewelry or what methods would be most effective in converting standard jewelry without negatively affecting the piercing or the look of the jewelry itself.
While other body modifications such as transdermal implants tend to be harder to remove than standard piercings, I would like to know of ways that body piercing modifications can be made to be as permanent as tattoos.

there is a product out there (don’t remember the name) but it essentially welds the threads of any screw-type fitting together. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH IT!!!! YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET THIS PRODUCT ON YOUR SKIN!!

Seek out Steve Haworth on iam.BME or Myspace, ask him! Aside from transdermal implants I do not know of a way but he probably does.

With a barbell piercing you can use a 2 part apoxy not super glue and put it on the threds and screw it down tight. It won’t come off. A bit messy and a pain to do, but it will work.
You could try a TummyToy and have them make the snap very tight so it wont come appart. http://www.tummytoys.com

I don’t know the answer to your question about the permenant piercings, but as far as the super glue is concerned, I do have an opinion or story.
A friend of mine had a partial plate in his mouth. Front teeth, and he did not have the money to go get them fixed. He used super glue to hold them in. He had done this for two years. Well he started not feeling well, to make a long story short, he almost died from the super glue. It had been poisoning him over the two years.
There has to be somethng that could hold it together, but if you do use the glue, make sure it does not get into an open piercing, or a fresh one. But then, something was also said about using the glue to hold a cut together. So maybe short term won’t hurt, over the longer term of use. But would it work on the metal with out hurting it, or discoloring it.
I know this wasn’t an answer to your question, but have a nice night.
