How bad does a cartilage piercing hurt? How long does it take to stop being sore?
I wanna get another 1 I got my 1st [of 2 - soon to be] cartilage piercings done with a gun, it took about 2 month till I could sleep on it properly

its different for everyone and depends were you go. i got my cartilage pierced with a gun and it didnt hurt at all. i slept on it the night after. and all the people that got it done at claires and piercing pagoda had no pain or problems sleeping. then on the other my other friends said they still cant sleep on it somtimes and itsbeen a year. so im not sure but go for it – i didnt hurt me and i am so scared of needles i cry like a baby =p

They hurt less with a needle.
Guns force their way through the cartilage wth a blunt earring, causing more trauma and pain to the cartilage than is necessary for you to go through, it also causes much more swelling than should be experienced.
A needle makes a nice, clean hole and hurts far less, it won’t swell as much and it will be far better! =]
Go to a proper piercing parlour, where they WILL NOT do it with a gun, because they know their stuff.
Places like Claire’s use guns for convenience, because they’re easy to use, and they’re cheaper than using lots of needles, because Claire’s perform lots of ear piercings every day.
And you’d be better with a stud for the inital piercing, they’re harder to catch by accident with hairbrushes and stuff, feel free to change it after it’s healed!! (:

I got my 1 piercing on my ear, the first one. It didn’t hurt, it was just a small pinch, I had them both done at the same time and it was over and done with.
I’ve heard that the further up you go on your ear the more it hurts but haven’t experienced it myself.
My friend had it done and says it did hurt and that she can’t sleep on it and if someone touches it then it hurts

I got my cartilage pierced two days ago. I got it done with a gun and it just felt like a big pinch and i expected to feel it go through but I didn’t afterwards it burned and then it went away. Since yesterday it’s been hurting on/off and I can’t sleep on it yet. I think you should get a stud because it’s much safer and easier to keep from getting infected.
It’s painful but the pain will ware off. Remember to keep it clean because otherwise it will get infected which is painful and uncomfortble. P.s My best friend’s sis is called Emma Louise = ] I thought it was her but she doesn’t go on YahooAnswers lol.

i got mine done last night, getting the actuall hole in didnt hurt at all , just like a pinch but now its really sore , and u cant sleep on it obviously.. but its worth it haha , it should go away in a couple of weeks…
It varies on each person. I know when my aunt go it she said it hurt a lot, and couldn’t sleep on it for a while. Then my friend got her’s done recently and she had no problem on it.
I got it done it hurts for a sec but then ur fine i would just relax about it if i were u it really is not that bad .hope this helps.from sara
