I recently got a tattoo, and it needs to be covered in saran wrap when I am at school or wearing clothes at other times, but it is in an awkward spot and I cannot get the saran wrap to go on by myself. Is using a sandwich bag the same? Because that’s all I can manage. But I don’t want anything bad to happen to the tattoo.

You probably shouldn’t be keeping it covered now, cause what it needs most is air to heal properly.
The sandwich bag should work if it’s in a place where it absoultely needs to be covered, but when i got mine i was told to keep a think layer of bag balm on it and when it dried out to put some more on. And i got told to take the plastic wrap off a few hours after it was finished with.
Although the best route would be to call the studio where you got it done because they would know for sure.
I have 7 tats and I was always told not to cover b/c it needs to breath.put triple antibiotic ointment on it for the first day then after that keep it well lotion-ed with fragrance free lotion to keep it from drying out if you keep it from drying it will not stick to your clothes. Also use unscented soaps when washing and do not scratch or pil skin off that is the worst thing. Also stay out of tanning beds and pools until it is all better
Why are you covering it at all. After a day it needs to breath so it can heal. Keep your goo on it and keep it clean .
you really don’t need to keep it covered. i have 3 tattoos and didn’t cover any of them and they are fine. all i did was make sure that they didnt dry out
I’m pretty sure a sandwich bag will do the same thing as saran wrap, its almost the same kind of plastic (if its plastic, I’m not exactly sure what it is) so i don’t think it could hurt anything…
I have several tats… I have never had to cover any of them in plastic. I kept a ton of ointment on them to keep them from itching and covered them with a gauze at times to keep them from sticking- which can be avoiding by keeping the ointment on them- but plastic? Hmm…just have never heard of it.
DO NOT KEEP IT COVERED! The tattoo needs to breath as this can help with the healing process. Keeping it covered can cause bacteria to infect it, and if that doesn’t happen it will not heal for awhile.
