I’ve got my nose pierced 3 weeks ago and it still has not healed yet. On the contrary, it is red and swollen and sometimes I bleed from my piercing. I think it may be because I always change my nose ring. I don’t know what I can do to make it heal faster. Please if you can let me know any ointments that I can apply to it to make it heal faster as my wedding is in 23 days!!!

They tell you to not use any thing that will block the air from “naturally” healing it…but i have had my nose pierced 4 times ( had to take it out for jobs and kept getting it redone!)
I have used neosporin but it takes forever to heal because it is an ointment and conseals the wound from fresh air. My suggestion is to wash (using a qtip) with warm soapy water(antibacterial soap only) 3-4 times a day to clean out infection, skin, scab, and debris. Then after it has dried for10-15 min, before applying any medication. Also call or see your doctor and get him to prescribe you a cream (not ointment) called “Bactroban”. It is for skin wounds and kills certain bacteria that generally grows on open skin wounds. It works wonders. The cream is better than any ointment because it does not conseal it from air! If I were you I’d call your doc today and get the bactroban cream, if your wedding is in 3 weeks!! And QUIT changing the ring. Every time you change it, it reopens the wound. It will NEVER heal if you dont leave it alone! The only thing you should be doing is after washing with anti bacterial soap, is turning it to make sure its free and not growing to your skin! Believe me! I know its hard to leave it alone but it will heal much faster! And if you do all that, you should be healed and able to change to whatever ring you want in for your wedding!!
Sure you could apply Neosporin or Polysporin to it.
I’d check with a doctor at some point this week – maybe there’s an antibiotic you need. It’s nothing urgent, but I’d get it looked at sooner or later before the wedding comes up!
QUIT CHANGING THE STUD AND LET IT HEAL, thats the best way a piercing will heal, just let it be.
