So I’ve had my belly button piercing for a month and one week. It hasn’t been infected at all, and it’s not red anymore. The barbell is super loose inside the piercing, and I clean it about 3-4 times a day. It never hurts, and I’m ready to change it. Do you think it’d be okay to change it now?

absolutely not! i know it’s not what you want to hear, but you asked. and i am a professional. you need to understand the healing process… the stages of healing. you are still in the inflammatory phase. changing it will likely cause problems. i’m not gonna get into it, cuz you;ll prob ignore me and do what you want anyway. and you are cleaning it too often.
2-3 times a day at the most. do saline soaks. stay away from soap. quit moving the jewrly around. leave it alone and let it heal.
Wait before you change* it. I know it may seem fine know, but by changing it too soon
it could cause the skin it get irritated and start an infection. My friend last year had gotten her navel pierced around the same time i did, hers seem to heal quicker though and after a month everything looked fine
so she decided to change it. Now i know everyone is different but she changed hers alot, and this could be why also, but a few weeks later the skin ended up getting really irritated it caused an infection. I strongly advise you to ask your piercer first, and not to constantly change it . Keep in mind a navel piercing takes anywhere from 6months to a year to heal fully and properly.
Good luck(:
You clean it way too often.
You should only clean it twice or else you’ll over clean it, causing it to get infected easy.
I’ve had my bellybutton done for like a week longer and I changed it about 2 weeks. ago to a ring because mine wasn’t infected or hurting or anything.
I would say keep it in because it’s been hurting a lot lately and it’s quite red. I kinda regret changing it.
I think you should wait like 3 more weeks since they recommend that you don’t change it for 6-8 weeks. (: Hope this helps.
Most definitely. As soon as the sensitivity and the peeling and what not have gone away you can change it. But, make sure you soak the new ring in alcohol before you put it in. and clean the area with ointment as well. Continue to clean the ring for a few weeks with your normal routine. Then switch to just cleaning it with dial soap in the shower.
Good luck!
It’s probably okay, if there is no pain when you pull on it or move it around. Don’t wait too long in between changes though. If possible, as you begin to remove the first one, begin putting in the new one, sort of following it. They can close up really quickly!
Good luck!
Your piercing will still be healing, even if it doesn’t seem like it. But as long as you’re careful, you should be able to get away with it. Make sure you spray some antibacterial wound spray on it first and wash your hands before you change it.
Sounds like its good to go.
