Sorry, I know this is my second question 2day about getting a cartilage piercing. I have this thing with needles and just the thought… Ouch! I had no prob. with the lobe but is it much worse with cartilage? I think I have a very low pain tolerance, haha. Should I take anything before I go or have something numbing because I heard that it hurts like crap.

Make sure you get it done with a needle. Piercing guns are evil. There is a chance it will shatter your cartilage.
Do not take anything before getting the piercing. You don’tt want to thin your blood as the piercing will bleed quite heavily afterwards. Helix piercings are quite tolerable for pain. It only takes a few seconds anyway and then its all done with. You should really go to a piercer that doesnt use numbing spray or anything like that. It could potentially damage your tissue within your ear. Anyway, you should really think whether you want the piercing. If you’re comfortable with getting it done then maybe you should wait. Make sure you’re absoloutely sure you want it done.
Go for it, the piercing isn’t so bad. There’s no need to get numbing cream on it, the pressure feels like a slight pinch that last only for several seconds, after that the ear will feel warm and sore so don’t sleep on the side you get it done on. Especially since your getting it pierced the right way (with a hollow needle) instead of a gun, the procedure should be quick and not painful at all. Just relax and by the time the piercer is done you’ll forget about the pressure you felt. Having both tragus pierced and rook pierced I thought they would be painful but I went along with it and they weren’t so bad as I thought it would be. Good Luck
I agree on the above comments. Cartilage piercing isn’t that too painful as what you think. At first, you may feel a little bit pain but it’ll not last a very long time. Maybe for several seconds then you feel relieved. Just try it and you’ll know.
